Understanding how that framework functions — from initial licensure through complaint resolution — is essential knowledge for any professional committed to ethical, compliant practice. This two-hour session features LARA representatives who will talk attendees through high level understandings of stages of the regulatory process, including how licenses are issued, how complaints are received and investigated, how cases are closed, and the steps of the disciplinary process. A moderated question-and-answer period will follow the presentations. Learning Objectives: Upon completion, participants will be able to: Describe the steps required to obtain a Michigan real estate license through LARA Explain how consumer and professional complaints are submitted and processed Identify the key stages of a LARA complaint investigation Outline the disciplinary process Continuing Education: Continuing education, if applicable, will be awarded as follows: 2 elective real estate continuing education credits (TBD) 2 hours of Appraisal continuing education (TBD) Continuing education is regulated by the State of Michigan, and it is important for licensed agents to comply with the law.
