This session brings together two subject-matter experts to address it from both sides. Liz Tobias covers how assessed value is determined and updated, how improvements and permits affect it, and what REALTORS® should know about the tax appeal process and Principal Residence Exemption. Beth Graham addresses how appraisal, market value, and contract price differ, what appraisers look for, and how REALTORS® can support the appraisal process without compromising its integrity. Together, they give members a practical framework for one of the most technically complex aspects of property ownership and transfer.
